this game is an awesome game i would honestly rather play this than call of duty 4 or halo 3 and i have to say i like this game more the perfect dark and this should be one of the top 10 most fun games for nintendo 64 in the world it has a a good story and it might not exactly follow the storyline but it's still pretty fun and the multiplayer mode is really fun and they made the golden gun one shot kill in this game. who ever doesn't like this game can burn becasue this game ROCKS OUT LOUD!!!

You may not know it, but you owe a big debt of gratitude to 007 Goldeneye. The First Person Shooter genre was growing stagnant, and people were losing interest in it altogether. Then Goldeneye came out and everything changed.

Honestly I have no idea where the gaming industry would be right now without this game. Some of the ideas used here were revolutionary in the industry, and despite other people's attempts to recreate the fun found in this game, I have yet to see it done.

Goldeneye offers an array of single player missions, a humbling amount of unlockables and cheats, 4 simultaneous multi-play, and a pretty decent storyline. This was the pinnacle of multi player games for N64, the expectations for them after Goldeneye was only reached by Super Smash Brothers.

For James Bond fans, or people that just appreciate what it meant for the industry as a whole, Goldeneye is a must have game.

This was one of those great games back in the day, when the N64 was brand new. Before I played on PC's, Goldeneye was the first FPS I've ever played. It's not a game to play if your new to gaming (I'm talkin about those kids who grew up on playstation2 and Xbox).

Its a classic you can ask anyone if they ever found themselves playing this game mindlessly with 3 other friends.

I used to invite my friends over and we would play it the whole time, this is one of the reasons why i never slept at night for the longest time.

Recently we started playing it again for fun, and its fun factor is just as high as it was.

Shooters stoday are still being compared to GOLDENEYE, it was at the time the benchmark for shooters. It was the reason people bought an N64 instead of a PS1.
The single player missions emulated the movie so well, and 4 player multiplayer was a blast. I still revist Goldeneye now, it is still a great fun and should not be missed, hopefully if you haven't plaed it that it will come out on the Virtual Console; not likely though.

Truly a First Person Shooter masterpiece on par with games like Halo and Half Life, Goldeneye has a reputation that has existed for over the decade it has.

Although the graphics haven't aged as gracefully as some would hope, the fast, wild gameplay is still there, with dozens of unlockable content, based on how long you play- I have fond memories of playing a map with friends over and over, running like hell and constantly racing against the clock to get that -one- bonus.....

One of beauties of this game is sticking to the movie's early action- instead of a slow progession of harder and harder enemies, the game explodes on the screen with you getting caught in the middle of a Soviet Bunker, and then presents levels with wide open areas in which to cause mayham in a way only Bond knows how- and nearly everything in the Movie appears and is expanded- from the Tank chase to the fight on the Worlds largest Radio transmitter.

Multiplayer especially gave this game new life, though, with excellent leve designs that will leave every fight fresh and unique

This has to be one of my favorite N64 games of all time. Although it might not look great in-game and from screenshots, I can make the best bet that if you actually take the time out to learn how to own at this game. It will be worth it.

Playability: It might take a while to get used to (the controller setup / customizing your controller setup) but once you get into it, you just cant stop shootin' your gun and blowin' things up!

Bells and Whistles: It might not look so great for those eye-candy seekers. But then again, if your looking for eye-candy it shouldnt be on the N64 :D.
& I'd have to rate the sounds average and generic.

Replay Value: Not that I'm advocating cheatcodes or anything, but without them (after you've beaten the game of-course silly) you wouldnt get really any enjoyment playing it over andover. Unless of course you just love 007, then I suppose you would.

Overall, fun gameplay, standard graphics. Very enjoyable to play through.
