Contact

The story begins "in media res" with the Professor in his spaceship evading the mysterious and hostile Klaxon Army. During the chase his ship crashes, leaving him stranded on a strange planet...

In some respects a classic, pixelated Nintendo rpg with combat and exploration, a somewhat unique element of Contact is that the player is not asked to assume the role of a fictional character in the game, but rather is enlisted by game characters to interact with them in order to overcome the hostile threat of an alien race.

Gameplay includes a real time combat system utilizing dual screens. Wifi play is implemented, though in a limited way, as by exchanging friend codes in the "Contact" area players become NPC's in each other's game.

Subtly innovated elements of classic rpg added to above average wit and interesting graphics make this game appealing to many afficiandos of the genre.

Grasshopper Manufacture developed this futuristic rpg for the Nintendo DS, which was published in the U.S. in 2006 by Atlus.

Currently only for the Nintendo DS

I'm really looking forward to playing this when it comes out in the UK in a month. I'm pretty intrigued by how the WiFi features will work too, plus it's about time there was an RPG about more than swords and magic and stuff :)
