ED
More About ED
ED is a 2D shooter written from scratch in DirectX for Dr. Ian Parbarry's 2D game course at the University of North Texas.
I am still working on this game (as the project is due shortly).
The gameplay is simple, a 2D shooter. However, the one shining feature is some simple proceedural music (partially working lol). The basic idea I went with was I designed a very simple sequencer/ drum machine applicatioin using Direct Sound, but replaced the usually interface of buttons and dials with a game. So various game events 'press' buttons on the drum machine. That make any sense?
The game also supports some Pysics based AI (particles that attract, repel, collide elastically etc...) which can surprisingly produce a range of 'intellegent' behavior. I'm pretty happy with it.
I am the sole programmer as thee other two programmers I was assigned with dropped the course within the first week. There are two artist on the team who provide the artwork; Matt Brooks, and Matt Nicholson.
