GEM
More About GEM
GEM (working title) is a game prototype that I created as an experiment in game design. After reading Raph Koster's book, A Theory of Fun, I attempted to implement an impressionist game mechanic.
The game is essentially a maze. However, the player cannot directly see the walls. The player must 'sense' walls by interpreting color and shape.
The player creates links between Gems to move through the maze. Links can be created between adjacent gems of like color or shape. So essentially walls exists between Gems of unlike color and shape.
The game was built with the Popcap Framework beta 1.0.
Currently I have stopped working on the prototype but I think it has potention and would like to start developing the game in ernest at some future date.
