Madden 92'
Take control of your favorite team in John Madden Football 92. New vibrant graphics, a vast improvement over John Madden Football. Crushing sounds from the explosion at the line, the famous "spin move", and many more features make this another great addition to the soon-to-be Madden franchise. Generally a great upgrade over last years version.

Info & History
Madden 92' was the first year we saw the game identified.... by the year. This version saw many new features including the missing 12 teams, as Madden 91' only contained the powerhouse and big market teams of the time.
The biggest feature added was weather, it was promoted heavily through various marketing means. The two new types the game included were rainy and snowy conditions (see gallery). This changed how games were played in those conditions by adding a new dynamic element to how players ran.
Sound was also an issue Park Place tackled by using a few catch phrases from Madden himself in the game, such as "Boom" "pop" "whap" etc etc. Aside from the introduction of Madden's voice into the game the sounds on the field also received a much needed boost, the crunching of the players exploding on the line, to the sounds of the snap and kick, all upgraded from the previous version.
New packages were also included in 92' and were listed as Big, for short yardage situations, Hands, for when ya need that catch, Fast pretty self explanatory, Normal for a mix between the three, and Special Teams for fieldgoals and punts. Within these packages there were various different plays to choose from, a vast improvement over the previous version in which play calling was limited.
Instant replay saw its introduction to the series. The ease of use and the pure novelty of it, was a seller to some people. You couldn't save replays but you could watch that amazing play you just ran, which surly included 35 spin moves.

Hoo's Review!
Madden 92 did start off well, and in my personal opinion, this was game that set the bar for the next 3 or 4 years worth of Madden's. It was another installment of not-quite-yet greatest football franchise ever.
You will notice that "EASN" the EA Sports Network which was the in-game broadcasting they implemented. It is what i consider the birth of EA SPORTS, a household name in todays era.
The introduction of the "spin" move was pretty nifty, allbeit completely overpowered. You could literally spin through an entire defense, all the players, ya couldn't be stopped.
Tackling still looked as if you were squashing bugs, but the only minor gripe i had about the graphics. For the first time you saw a yearly improvement of graphics, and as it turns out, it sure got prettier by the year. The new weather conditions also were a new unique look at the field, and believe it or not, were quite pretty at the time. All in all the graphics of the game were damn good lookin'.
The "feel" of the game was quick, where as last years version was slower, the "slide" effect is still there, and you should see it in snowy conditions, with a speedy running back you can dive at the 10 yrd line and slide into the endzone, its actually quite comical. I'd have to say the physics and feel of the game are ok, not great, but ok.
The coolest part of the game in my opinion, and the most memorable from my childhood is when a player was hurt, the ambulance would come on the field and run over everyone, with squishy sounds, pretty funny, and the ambulance would sometimes run over the player that was injured, then put it in reverse, and run over him again. **Squish Squish*Which also reminds me of C&C when you run over people in those light tanks that NOD had, anywho....
In conclusion the game has came a long way since 91' with less then a year of development. One of the best years for Madden all though the major changes not just with gameplay, but production were yet to come.
