Resident Evil
Resident Evil, known in Japan as Biohazard, is a survival-horror franchise that started life as a video game series developed by Capcom and created by Shinji Mikami. The series is credited with popularizing the survival horror game genre. This franchise has been heavily influenced by George A. Romero's Dead movies, as well as the Alone in the Dark series of PC horror games, early seminal examples of the genre.
The games have sold over 30 million copies as of February 2006. The success of this franchise has spawned several video games, a comic book series, novelizations, two Hollywood action films (two more have been announced), and a variety of action figures.

Bottom Line: A true masterpiece in the horror action/ adventure games genre! An old mansion, a military trained team trapped in it late at night. Zombies crawling from every corner. One by one the team is executed. It is up to you to get Chris and Jill out alive!
A classic horror movie scenario brought to life in a horror action/adventure game. Although Alone in the Dark was first in this, it was Resident Evil that really brought the genre to its peak! Here the action takes a much more important part than puzzles, and combined with the exceptional atmosphere you become hooked in an instant! As the rest of the RE games, the inventory interface is rather simple and not very realistic. The camera is static in a 3d environment, the graphics are a big plus as well as the music and sound effects, which really get you in the horror atmosphere. The characters are well developed and likeable and the plot is unique! An unofficial RE fansite: http://www.geocities.com/a dawong.geo/ Learning Curve: Takes a second
