Unlike its name suggests, Kingdoms is not a sequel nor a prequel to Total Annihilation. It did inherit the epic scale and style of play of Total Annihilation however.

Set in a world of Magic, the player plays as one of four sides:

Aramon, the traditional fantasy style race, with knights, castles, and mages.

Veruna, the powerful maidens of the sea, with almost complete ship battle dominance, crossbowmen, and cannon towers.

Zhon, the beast race, with hunters, giants, and dragons.

Taros, the 'evil' race, with skeletons, zombies, ghost ships, and demons.

Epic battles, better graphics then its predecessor, and a compelling storyline make this game great.
