Beneath a Steel Sky is set in a dystopian future Australia. You play Robert Foster, originally from Union City, but raised by a tribe out in "The Gap". The game starts when Foster is kidnapped by troopers from Union City. However, the helicopter in which Foster and his kidnappers are in crashes, and Forster is left to find out where he is, and what to do now he is hunted in an unknown and unfriendly city.

Beneath a Steel Sky is filled with comedic elements and a good eye for details. It is no wonder that it received a lot of critical acclaim when it came out.
