While you read this review, download Bitfighter. It's a fast download and you'll be wanting to play ASAP when you read about some of the cool features.

Bitfighter is truly a stunning game. Zap! was one of the best games I have ever played, and Bitfighter is essentially Zap! 2.0. So if you're looking for major changes, you won't find much. But it's the little things that count. Custom key bindings. Easier to use menus.

In Bitfighter, you must pilot a ship through advanced levels and try and defeat your enemies. Multiplayer makes up for the lack of a singleplayer mode with dedicated server support and a live feed widget. Bitfighter contains a powerful level editor that allows you to create fun levels. Levels in Bitfighter are transferred through lines of simple code, so it's easy to upload levels to forums and websites.

Bitfighter is a very unique game. The loadout menu lets you choose different weapon and module sets for appropriate levels. Bitfighter is highly joystick compatible, so it's a breeze to play with different controllers. Bitfighter can be customized easily through a text file, so you can edit the quick chat menu items and what levels to appear on your server.

Bitfighter is FREE. It's a small size (less than 3 MB) so downloading is quick and easy. Hopefully you have downloaded it, so pop it open and start playing! The user base is very small (which is the main, and pretty much only, problem) but if you start playing then others will want to as well. If you're bored and not sure what to do, check out the level editor. Create some groovy levels, then register for the Bitfighter forums and others can test your levels. Or view all of the features of the game inside and out and post a review on a website so more people will start playing and the user base can grow.

Bitfighter is AWESOME.
