This game is just plain awesome. Great community, game is made very well, everything is awesome.

Please, do not listen to any bad reviews saying that Blockland only works on Vista, or it has no physics or whatever. That is all a lie. It may take a while to build something incredibly amazing, but starting small is all it takes to become a professional builder.

If this were the only game in the world, I would still be very happy. I've played it for about 6 months now and I still haven't gotten bored of it. I suggest you play the demo, then buy it. If anything, play it. Also, you should buy it as v9 might be released soon, and it will have scriptable 'wrench events'

This game is most likely the best Lego style game I've come across.
The add-ons system is an ingenious way of making your own gameplay, you can easily script vehicles, weapons, tools and with little effort. I myself have made no end of modifications and the only limitation to this is your imagination.
I would recommend this game to all who love Lego styled games.

This game is full of jerks, they call everybody noobs, there are no physics in this game what-so-ever, it's very very very hard to modify this game, the graphics look like junk, it doesent work on windows XP, it only works on Vista! how stupid is that?! it lags allot when playing online, if you ask somebody on how to play they just call you a retard, the forum is full of jerks too!

Great game! You walk around as a "Blockhead", which is similar to a LEGO minifigure. You can build whatever you want! Some of the coolest builds I've seen contain easily over twenty thousand pieces.

The learning curve for building takes a while, but to be able to walk around online and just look around at other people's builds... well, WASD is all you need, and the mouse.

Play it. Now, really. It'll bring you hours of entertainment for only $20. you'll enjoy thousands of builds ranging from giant cities, to big ducks. the graphics could be better, but they work well (this is why we call newbies blockheads, our heads are large cubes)

This game has the largest replay value ever, because it's like a new game every time you enter a server. It has a small learning curve, the basics can be learned in a matter of minutes, the advanced stuff, however, takes forever. Enjoy!

This game is unique, and offers a gaming experience that no other games do. In this game, it's almost true that only the imagination sets limits to what you can do.

The replay value is definitively worth a 5 star. You can play it over and over again without getting bored of it. I myself played it for the first time in winter, 2005, and I still play it (although I took a break in 2006 sometime).

The community is awesome, many good modders and nice clans. You'll always have fun with this game, so don't hesitate with buying it!

this game has urr stuff that look like bricks and the players have rayman limbs so they look like they are floating and this is fun because they look nothing like the limbs that are in the picture above and suddenly chocolate rain came from the spacestation in the sky from the zoo animals that include a lion and a duck

In Blockland, you need a knack for architecture for you not to be called a noob. When you get used to the controls and how slow the jets are, you start to have much fun! Best of all, It's online and has a possibility of a friends list. If you like building or if you take architecture in a college and you want to practice, then buy this game!

As i played RTB and older blockland, and then I herd of it going retail, i said "This is definitely not a game that is worth the money". I was worng, so wrong infact, that I should ram my self into a tree 80 times...infact......... ok im back.

Curently I do not have the money to buy retail, so I am writing this review from Demo mode. The game is amazing, the building is more advanced, thanks to badspots new, pick and place (as I like to call it) building, this consists of pressing B, picking what brick you want, putting it in one building slow, and placing it so your ready to build.

Also the minigame creator makes things interesting, you can make a minigame where you must build your best, or destroy the bricks in a rocket battle ground. the effects of the bricks flying off when you nail them with a Spear, Hammer, or Rocket launcher is amazing to.

There are also effects you can put on your bricks, from making it glow, flicker, or wiggle as you build that Jello Castle you always wanted to build.

Spawning vehicles and making DM spawns have become alot easier, theres a brick in the brick selector called "Vehicle spawner". Plant that brick, hit it with a wrench, and your good to go. The vehicles have also made a massive improvement. The no longer lag up the game and crash it!

Another point I would like to make is the amazing lighting, the game is already good but finishing touches like those make the game all so better. Night maps with that amazing lighting make the game so much cooler. You can now make Prison Break games in the night, so its harder for the guards to find you.

Right now I don't have 20$ to go and buy this amazing game, but as soon as I do, soon or not, I am spending it on this great game.

Learning Curve: It takes a bit to learn the game. There are lots of different effects in the retail version that you can apply to the different bricks. Fortunately, a small help manual is included, and there is an option to turn on tool tips.

Playability: The game is fairly stable, and fun. If you are playing the beta version, you probably experience 1 or 2 crashes a day, more if you are editing the game. It is entirely possible to play without crashing though. The retail version is much more stable. The controls are easy to learn, and completely customizable. Graphics options can be changed as well, for lower end computers, although the requirements aren't very steep.

Bells and Whistles: This game has a lot to do. A lot. There are dozens of different effects. You can change your player avatar down to the smallest details, like your hand color. You can layer transparent, shiny, lighting, undulation, particles, and item spawn affects on most bricks. Other bricks have the ability to have decals printed on them. Others play sound, or spawn players and vehicles. A mini-game editor is included. You can even have more then one mini-game running at once, and not interfere with each other. So if one third of the server wants to play some random rpg (:D), another third wants to play a quake style wants to play a quake style deathmatch (:D:D), and still another wants to play destruction derby with jeeps and missile launchers (:D:D:D), it is entirely possible. And you can still have people building in the background.

Replay: Very few sandbox games I've played have any trouble with replay value, since it is technically infinite. Its different every time. Furthermore, it is extendable with game mods.

Overall: I really enjoyed this game. Try the demo, since it is free. If you like it, check out the full game when it goes retail. I know I will.

Blockland is one of those game ideas that just hit you in the head in the middle of the night, slap you a round a bit and tell you to get to work. Lego never makes their games any good. They never explore the whole idea to it's fullest potential.

And that's why Eric Hartman has happened to create what is probably the most refined, most enjoyable building-based game to date. The beta really gives you that feel of nostalgia that you get when you build with legos. It's just addictive. Not to mention the mod community was really strong at one point. Who knows, maybe we'll see new mods for Blockland once retail is released. We'll have to wait and see.

A greatly addictive game. Blockland is top of it's genre, nothing better. The commuinty is amazing and we are all gratefull to Eric "Badspot" Hartman, for his genious. Blockland was the first game I felt comfortable modding, Blockland rocks!
