ChainWorks is a vibrant 2D puzzle game. It is currently in development with an anticipated release date of fall 2006. ChainWorks is a fresh 2D puzzler, based around the linking of like coloured fireworks in a display. Rapid decision making and strategic chaining are required to become a high scorer, or fulfil one of the games many challenges.

Gameplay

To create chains, the player must select a firework as it soars into the air, and proceed to select like coloured fireworks, chaining them together. A chain must be detonated before one of the fireworks falls from the sky. To score impressive chain scores, "wild" fireworks can be used to link different coloured fireworks. Scores depend on chain length, mix of colours, and various other factors that only experience will tell! Throw in a handful of items such as time slow, time stop, all fireworks detonation and the ability to chain chains, and you'll find yourself a pyromaniac within days

Online Features

chainWorks will feature a fully integrated online score submission system, allowing all users to upload their scores to a master server to compare their level scores, and times with players from across the world. The system will be simple and easy for players of all technical ability. A variety of ingame challenges allow you to test your skills to the maximum, and you guessed it, you can upload your times and scores to see how you compare!!

Visuals

ChainWorks isn't only about game play however. From its conception it was designed to be visually stunning, offering the player a unique experience from normal puzzlers. Using an advanced particle engine, the fireworks are created on a per-streak basis meaning no two fireworks will look identical. The glamorous particle effects are used for each colour and variety on varying scales, making each display stunningly vibrant and varied. On capable PC's the game can be played across a variety of backdrops, from urban London, to alpine ski resorts and lavish ocean liners. The game will scale to your PC's specifications from the most basic of graphic chipsets, through to the latest shader enabled cards.

ChainWorks is built on Torque technology, giving it cross-platform functionality and recognised stability.
