Counterclockwise
Counterclockwise is a remake of 1983 Spectrum game "Knot in 3D". Your goal is to navigate a mass-trail propulsion craft through zero-G space and survive as long as you can. There are other crafts (chasers) around, trying to cut you off with their trails. Avoid crashing into trails and showoff some fancy flying and shooting skills for extra score.

Bottom Line: Play it! The original Knot In 3d was a game that was bound tightly by the restrictions of the hardware it ran on. The poor humble speccy, no matter what the ambitions of the coder, just wasn't designed to run a realtime 3d light cycles race.
Thankfully, Counterclockwise no longer has to suffer for the sins of the hardware and can set the game free and after many years finally realise everything that Knot In 3d could have been. With tricks to pull, chasers to chase, gorgeous minimalist graphics and atmospheric sound - Counterclockwise is a modern classic and best of all, its absolutely free to download.
