Crysis

Crysis is based in a fictional future where an ancient alien spacecraft has been discovered deep within the Earth. The single player campaign has the player assume the role of United States Delta Force operator Jake Dunn, referred to in-game by his fieldname- Nomad. Nomad is armed with various futuristic weapons and equipment, most notably a "Nano Muscle Suit". In Crysis, the player fights both North Korean and extraterrestrial enemies, in four different locations: a tropical island jungle, inside an "Ice Sphere" (consisting of the same jungle, but frozen), the alien ship itself (with a zero-gravity area) and an American aircraft carrier.

Cool graphics, boring gameplay, going for episodes = sucks.

I would recommend a ATi Radeon x800XT PE or higher to run it.
But you still need a good CPU and probably 2048 Ram.

The first problem with Crysis is that people will have to take out a 2nd martgage to run the game at decent settings.

Already, the game has Tribe-ish elemets (cloak, boost, and shield), but the physics are very arcade feeling. Much more effort was put into the graphics than the gameplay. While outstanding graphics-wise, the gameplay and physics are not immersive at all.

EYE CANDY IS NOT WHAT MAKES A GAME!!!!!

The Crytek engine is absotulely beautiful and powerful for enviroments, but the processing power to make it look that way is immense. Add in the proper physics and elements to make the game play immersive and a person needs a super computer to run it. Maybe kids who more impressed with graphics than anything else will like it, but I uninstalled teh beta after a week of forcing myself to play a great-looking, yet boring game.

It's going to be PC only, neither the 360 or the PS3 could do this game justice...

Wow, the stuff being shown at GDC is insane! Their level editor looks as easy to use as the Starcraft editor, and you can play test right inside the editor. I hope they release that with the game. The Power Struggle multiplayer mode sounds really interesting too. I can't wait.

mmm.. i'm starting to get the impression that Crysis is going to be the same as Far Cry, but prettier.
Let's say, Doom to Doom 2 comparission. Only this time isn't about weapons, it's about gfx's

They say it runs on computers with regular consumer hardware, well lets restate that, with the best hardware a consumer can get:

4GB RAM
Intel Core 2 Extreme Quad core 2.66ghz
2x GeForce 8800GTX

And that gives you 60FPS, so they say!

I want a computer good enough for this so bad, it burns when I switch this one on.

Nobody except PC mags and those in the know care much about this, but it looks so freaking awesome, I won't be surprised if it's Game of the Year.

Crysis is one of those games that will feed the visual and audio senses, there is no questioning that. FarCry, made by the same people, blew my mind with some of the BEST visuals in it's time, the only downside was the lack of story, and what story there was, sucked.

Crysis on the other hand is being designed for the visuals and story, mainly. Let's just hope they surprise us, and give us a kick ass storyline this time. That combined with amazing visuals, gameplay and multi-play. I think I will be in jungle heaven ;) Bring it on.

As of 12/4, this has been delayed. Cevat Yerli released a statement telling us what's up.

There is no hard date as of now. It's nice to see developers taking their time on what everyone hopes to be a quality title by not rushing it out the door and patching the crap out of it after it fails.

Hopefully it'll be good, hopefully it will be able to run on anything less than a super computer.
