The original is a must play, The sequels are avoidable.

The CryEngine is incredible - it was ahead of its time and if you play this game now on full detail, it looks just as good as any new PC AAA title. The game was awesome, but when the monsters came out and the difficulty level started reaching stupid proportions I lost interest. Shame, really. IMO it would have been better as a straight combat shooter instead of doing all that silly monster stuff. Still a classy game, though.

Quite a lot of fun gameplay in this. Mostly quite standard little events, but the environments are pretty large and good looking on average, and there was a respectable variety of nice weapons. I would almost install this again just to walk on the beach and maybe steal some boats :)

Not my favorite FPS but it was a good game, pretty hard too.

I played it for a dozen or two hours, then it was suddenly over without as much as a boss fight. The lack of any meaningful plot or gameplay twists makes this a rather boring game in the long run, but at first it's pretty impressive.

Great game, except not enough stealth elements. You felt like you could be stealthy, but then it always got screwed up because the enemies always saw you, plus the checkpoint system ruined chances of easy stealth.
