This is coming from a huge fan of fast paced simple games, so don't pay much mind to what I have to say. For me, it is just too slow, but I have the feeling that that is the point.
On the plus side, it is a new idea as far as I know. And a good-sounding one. It is "pretty" for lack of a better work, and the music fits everything very well.
The only downside is it in too slow. I might enjoy it is it was speed up by 5x or 10x maybe, but again, it would destroy the point.
You give it more and you lose the essence of the game, it's simplistic grace. Yeah, it may be boring to those that want a challenge, but the game is just fun. It may not have emergent AI or different evolutionary trees, but even without all that, its still fun. The music and the art give this game a very relaxed feel, although there is an ever present undertone of "Eat or Be Eaten".
All in all, a very good game in its own right. And, who knows, in the next installment (if there is one), there may be harder enemies and evolutionary choices. For now, I'm going to enjoy this game for what it is.
There isn't enough gameplay to make me come back again and again and again, but it's got a nice, original style and it deserves some credit for that.
got lost in the idea and music, very addictive and fun should be played by all!
I'm sorry I have to be negative here... This is, however, my honest opinion. And if you read my profile "My thoughts on games" you'll see where I'm coming from.
This game has potential! Throw in some interesting upgrades, a tech tree, and more challenging AI and you've got yourself a game that blows nibbles out of the water! (pun intended :P)
I came back a second time after hearing of its newfound fortune and played all the way to the second boss (same as the first) only to find that when I beat it I was left in an empty pool.
There are redeeming qualities to this game: the art and sound are both of very high quality, but I really don't understand the hype about what is essentially a nibbles clone.
