Bottom Line: A chat with something more Gameplay: This isn't a game. It's a graphical chat room. However, players are able to create their own dreams, which are basicaly private areas with their own graphics (called patches, if players want to make use of them) and programs (called dreamspeak, furcadia's own script language). There are some dreams which are game environment, but most dreams are either social places or areas with freeform roleplaying. Gameplay in most areas resumes in walking around or talking.
Graphics: Well, it has pixels... Plenty of it... So many people call their buyable (called digos) items 'pixels'... Imagine your old 8bit game, that's pretty much it. Replay: Considering it's not a game, there are no classes, no levels, no anything-special-to-do, you can replay it until you die, just like life. Many people create several alts for their roleplay while others stick to a single character, but it doesn't matter as they are like IRC nicknames and placeholders for your digos. Fun Factor: Uh, here's where things get messy. Beware of the perverts and crossgenders and yiffers and jerks and bitches and this and that (actually, there are mature areas and dreams for that sort of thing, furcadia also features parental protection so younglings wont drop in those places by mistake). Chatrooms can -be- fun, I still visit furc weekly as I have friends there and I enjoy annoying sanct now and then. Final Notes: Digos cost -real- money, remember that. People will beg for them, want to trade them, they don't do anything but stick to your character, altho some like phoenixes can do graphical things, in this case, phoes become fireballs. You -don't- have to buy them, as they are extremely overly priced. Most 'for life' items cost over US$100,00, altho there are promotions. In any case, if you like roleplaying or socializing with the furre theme in mind, go for it. Learning Curve: Instant!
