do i remember this. i saw this thing called "grand theft auto" on a computer magazine cd and said "what the hell, i've got nothing better to do". was i thrilled to see this :) i loved playing with little cars when i was a kid (majorete, matchbox, hot wheels etc) and this was like a dream come true. of course nothing could prepare mo for this. i can still remember that demo. you had the whole city to play, but only 5 or 8 minutes to play. that was cruel :)
It was great, but the lack of save inside a city made it a bit too difficult at the Vice City stages. I don't think I ever finished the last stage at all, managed to find some way to watch the final cutscene though :)
Oh, and I found a glitch where you could finish either the first or second San Andreas stage, by just driving straight to the end point (well, you'd need to have finished the stage to know where it is of course). You could just drive in there, and you'd completed the stage, even with 0 points.
Now these kids get the entire game to sneak on it....lucky SOB's....
I love how customizable it was as well. There was quite a scene making new vehicles, maps and missions for quite a while.
Sadly, i only played the demo. But still, great fun!
