.Hack//Infection was made by Ban-Dai in 2003. It's about a virtual reality game called "The World" in 2010. "The World" is running smoothly, it's community is rapidly growing and soon it had 2 million registered users.

Strange things started happening though. There have been reports of a girl dressed in all white in some levels, with a chrome/iron monster with a red staff chasing her. People started to look for these things to hunt them down and possibly claim a reward. As time went on people started to go into coma's when they found the beast chasing the girl...

You play as Kite, a teenager with an annoyingly high voice. The game starts off where your friend buys "The World" for you, and you register your character. You and your friend set a time to meet in-game. You finish registration and you find yourself logging in. I don't want to reveal too much after this, so I'll skip to game play.

There are 6 character classes: TwinBlade (two swords), Blade Master (long sword), Heavy Blade (two hander), Long Arm (spear), Heavy Axe (Axe), and WaveMaster (staff). There are two types of attacks: normal, and skills. Normal attacks are ... well, normal. Skills however vary from magic, to high speed slashes, to one very heavy slash, to Data Draining. There is equipment ranging from levels 1-20 for each and every class, it determines how strong you are, and what skills you have.

This game is special because of the story line. You just have to love the theme. It actually gets pretty scary if you play alone at night.
