Halo 2

Halo 2 is a first-person shooter video game developed by Bungie Studios. Released for the Xbox game console on November 9, 2004, the game is a direct sequel to the critically acclaimed blockbuster Halo: Combat Evolved. From the day of its initial release, Halo 2 has been the most popular video game on Xbox Live, even after the release of the Xbox 360. On June 20, 2006, more than a half-billion games of Halo 2 had been played on Xbox Live since its debut, and by October 30, 2006, this number was raised to four billion. Halo 2 is compatible with the Xbox 360, including its Xbox Live functionality.

Bottom Line: Play it!
Halo 2, being the highly acclaimed game that it is. Has gotten quite a bit of press, extravagant game reviews, and sold more on the first day of release than practically any other game. And for good reason.

Halo 2 takes the basic mechanics from the first Halo, refines them, and throws the player ito the action-packed Halo universe as Master Chief, the near-invincible one man army that leads Earth's troops against the Covenant, to prevent them from firing Halo, a devastating weapon that would wipe out all life in the universe if unleashed.

The game controls are solid, and have become the standard for console FPS games. The graphics are some of the best the Xbox has to offer, and the in-game cinematics can give you the chills.

Multiplayer support increases the novelty of the game. The frantic gameplay, mixed with the satisfaction of defeating your friends online, really makes it all worthwhile.

Halo 2 is still with it's faults, though few and far between. Games don't get this popular without good reason. Still, there's room for improvement. I think Halo 3 just may deliver it. This one gets a 4 out of 5.
