Bottom Line: Online Multiplayer Gaming at its finest. I think it's simple to say that, Halo is a highly over-rated series. Sure, it may be over-rated, but that doesn't mean that it's bad. Sure, probably too many people like it for what it was... I mean, look at Halo 1 & 2. Compare those to this game, and those are absolutely pathetic, and you wonder why anyone really cared (I sure didn't back then)... The series has undergone some huge changed that finally made the game really shine, and make it seriously worth playing. Campaign is now a complete afterthought in my mind (although obviously not Bungie's), and that was just about the only thing that existed in 1. Sure, 2 had Xbox Live, but there were some serious problems. The Energy Sword was far too powerful, and same with the sniper weapons... I'm sure that's what they immediately fixed with 3. The weapons are more or less balanced into the game, and the sniper weapons now take incredible amounts of skill to get your headshots in... Plus there's the constant irritation that everyone is after you and wants your sniper rifle, haha. The multiplayer online game is where it's at. Custom games, constantly updating playlists, new playlists, new maps, Forge, and even the cool little ability to save the really cool moments and even put them on your file share for the whole world to see! There is no limit to the fun in the multiplayer game. Campaign, on the other hand, is pretty good, but definitely not what I bought it for. It's better than it was in 1 & 2, but it's still irrelevant when you are considering the multiplayer game. Sure there are a few annoying little things, and sure people can camp like crazy, but the ability to stick someone with a grenade, even a split second before you die, sort of makes sure that that Sword camper can't stay there forever.
Overall- A great multiplayer game, don't buy it for Campaign, don't think Campaign is the whole reason everyone likes it, etc. Buy it! Learning Curve: Takes a while
