John Madden Football
John Madden Football, what else can you say. This was the very first Madden football, all be it on a apple II, which I'm not sure we can consider a gaming system, but back in 89, it was (sort of). It wasn't the greatest game, and the Madden franchise was yet to explode on mainstream America, at least for another year, along with a new "gaming console" you may of heard of, the Sega Genesis.

History
I am not sure about the history 100%, but I believe Park Place production developed this game. A short lived company Park Place went on to do a few other sports games, NHL Hockey being the most noteworthy. Madden being their mark on history. All in all the game didn't do well however they went on to try it again later that year with Madden on the Genesis, a good idea! worked out well for them I think.
The game did not do to well on the market. However interest in the genre was obvious, there was money to be made.
People enjoyed the idea of playing football on tv, but this game just didn't take the cake, however Madden would live to see better days, much better days, with well over 50 MILLION copies sold throughout the years. Completely dwarfing the video game market sales for many years.

Hoo's Review!
The game wasn't flashy, it was ugly, it was slow, and to be perfectly honest, the game was bad. However the game did have graphics, and it was football, it was more of a "coaching" style of Madden, meaning you pick the play and watch them go town, with minimal involvement. However the simulation was amazing because nobody had seen anything like it before. It was revolutionary in the gaming industry, perhaps unknown at the time, sort of like the chocolate bar being melted in that guys pocket by microwaves.
Not much else to say other then this game started it all, It was football, it was in color, and you could lead your e-team to victory. The attraction to the American people was evident, maybe the developers were onto something.
