More about Liero

Liero is often called a real-time Worms game. In a game two players (human or computer) control one worm each, fighting each other. When two human players play against each other, the screen is split vertically. In most game modes the objective is to kill the other player, but a capture-the-flag mode is also available.

Liero has a total of 40 different weapons that players can use to kill each other. At the start of a match each player gets to select five weapons from this list that they can use during the match. All weapons have an infinite amount of ammo, and are balanced by their reload rates (more powerful weapons take longer to reload).

The levels are made out of dirt and stones. The stones are indistructible, but everything else can be dug through, or shot to pieces. Because of this levels often become incresingly open as a game goes on. Players can get up to the higher parts of a level using a ninja rope, which can be attached to any stones, dirt, or walls in the level within reach.

Liero will not work with sound on Windows XP, this can be solved by using a DOS emulator such as DOSBox.
