Bottom Line: The best game I have ever laid hands on! I know my bottom line may sound a little exaggerated. But, make no mistake. When I say this is the best game I've ever played I mean it.
Now of course for the sake of the people reading this I can't just leave it at that. Though it surpasses every other game in my I'm not just going to call it the "perfect" game and say that it's flawless in every sense of the word. There are flaws in the game; however they're so far and few between that they hardly bugs me at all. The most noticeable is the frame rate. It's only a bother during combat where a Geth missile comes whistling by you and, for about 1 second, you're frame rate jumps down to a 3 FPS. All and all it's not that bad of thing. All the other flaws are total nitpicks that you'd have to be extremely easily annoyed to hate the game because of. Now that I got that out of the way, lets get to the good things. The story is the best that I've ever seen in a game, don't expect any spiked hair youngster saving the world JRPG bullshit here. It's completely original and keeps the player guessing what will come next. Next is the combat, which I was expecting to remind me a lot of Ghost Recon Advance Warfighter 2. Which it would've but thanks to the abilities that you and your party members can use it feels completely fresh. I loved playing as an adept, one of the best moments in the game is when I levitated my enemy 10 feet in the air then pushed him with a wave of mass effect, flailing him off a cliff. In conclusion, I think Mass Effect is an excellent game with a genius combat system and an even more genius story line. Not to forget the fact that I've played at least 50 hours of it and I still haven't even gotten close to the half way completion achievement. The only people this game may not be for are very casual gamers that only play things like Peggle. But if that's the only game you play then you probably wouldn't be reading this anyways.
