Mythos
Mythos is an action-RPG a la Diablo create by Flapship Seattle to test Ping0, the online network created to distribute Flagship's first game Hellgate: London.
Flagship Seattle is a division of Flagship Studios. The studio is led by Travis Baldree, Project Director. Baldree previously worked at Wild Tangent as the Lead Designer on the popular free-to-play role-playing game Fate. Flagship Seattle has a diverse history of game development. Other team members have worked on titles including Total Annihilation, Dungeon Siege and SWAT 3.
Flagship Seattle is currently working on Mythos, an online role-playing game that will be used to test the networking technology behind the multiplayer component of the highly-anticipated action role-playing game Hellgate: London. Mythos will be digitally distributed by Flagship Studios subsidiary Ping0, LLC in North America and Europe in 2007. HanbitSoft, Flagship Studios' partner in Ping0, will be responsible for distributing Mythos in Asia.

| Community Management | Harder than Planned | Kind of an interesting story really. The initial idea for Mythos was to be a network test bed for Hellgate: London. Flagship Studios realized that we can't just launch Hellgate and turn on internet in the hopes of it working. So they hired Travis Baldree to start work on a test bed game that can be distributed for free but still using all of the core elements of Hellgate: London. Project M was born. Once people got their hands on Mythos, it was immediately popular. I can't count the number of times I had to cover up NDA breaches on YouTube and other video sites. So many people liked it, that on March 22nd, 2007 Mythos was announced as an official title from Flagship Studios :) |
