You control the Princess who is trapped in a dungeon by a demon. You are in luck, because the dungeon is sentinent and helps you in your quest to get out. The dungeon, Wally, can open portal holes in walls and ceilings which provide the main part of the gameplay in Narbacular Drop.
The portals allow for a number of fun game experiences. Since portals can be places on both walls, floors and ceilings, crafty placement and good controls can allow players to toss themselves or other objects in the dungeon around with great force built up by gravity.
Placing portals is easy, each of the two mouse buttons opens up one colour portal, left for blue and right for orange. Only one portal of each colour can exist at any time, and as soon as one is placed, the portal of the same colour instantly dissapears. The blue portals always open up to where the orange is open and vice versa.
Since the release of Narbacular Drop, the team has been employed by valve, and is now working on the game Portal, a game to be bundled with Half-Life 2: Episode two.
