 The graphics don't turn me off, it's the difficulty. I made an ArtMoney table, but I still killed myself with a stupid wand that reflected back to me. Instant regeneration doesn't save from instant death, neither does all-you-can-spend gold.

 actually, people have gotten the amulet, and retreated to the celestial realm... after 50 games.. but if this game's graphics turn you away from it, search online for Vultures Eye, and the updated Vulture's Claw, which updates it to an isometric view with an easy GUI

 Nethack is an amazing game that is ridiculously hard. No one has ever gotten the amulet and made it out of the dungeon.

 I love roguelikes, but Nethack somehow didn't appealed to me. It's nice and fun, but I just prefer more advanced games like ADoM.

 Every time somebody gets tired of Oblivion because it's Repetitive, I always point them in the direction of Nethack. A truly awesome game for generations to behold, and I have yet to find an open system this hasn't been ported to.
