Bottom Line: Play it! What can I say? Well, it's free! Just download and play. Run, jump and frag! Quakestyle and fast. Join a server and get pwned, learn more about the different mods and the special movement physics. Discover the topical graphical effects and forgive a few small bugs and inadequacies. It's worth it!
Of course, the GUI still has to be done, as a beginner you could be slightly overstrained with it. But the ones who are familiar with Quake's game consoles get into it very easily. The player models are slightly outdated and having to many polygons, they cause framedrops, depending on your settings and the hardware you use. If you need help, one of the most friendly and helpful game communities (maybe it's THE most friendly one) are just waiting for you to give you advice. Learning Curve: Takes a while
