Phantom Brave was the first NIS title to abandon the grid system, yet retain the turn based strategy game style. Fan reaction was mixed, but most people seemed to enjoy it once they got the hang of the slightly less precise gridless system. This game also took the new approach to calling allies to the field by confining them to objects.
