Star Ocean: Till the End of Time
The third main game in the Star Ocean video game series. The game was developed by tri-Ace and published by Square Enix for the PlayStation 2 console system. It was released in Japan, North America, and the PAL territories. The original Japanese release date was in February of 2003 by Enix, shortly before its merger to become Square Enix. It was re-released in 2004 as a "Director's cut" version, which the North American and European ports are based on. The game takes place four hundred in-universe years after the first two Star Ocean games.

Bottom Line: It depends. Just how big a' SquareEnix fan are ya? Star Ocean: The Second Story, you are one of the gems of my PS1 collection. Star Ocean: Till the End of Time, you are the bastard love child of Anime and RPG. I'll put it bluntly, I didn't like this game. I couldn't bring myself to play much more of it than I did. Not that there is anything wrong with this game (at least, to some people), I just didn't care for it.
If you're into MMO's that arn't actually MMO's (See .hack/ games), then you'll probably dig this game. The battle system is in real time, which is actually how I like RPG games. But, the battles themselves were way to complicated and sloppy. Real time has been done better in other games. I'm an RPG fan. I love 'em. I've played almost every FF I can get my hands on. I've tackled Wild Arms games. Hell, I even gave Super Mario RPG a well deserved 5 out of 5. But this game? Eh, no. Experiance is very hard to come by, which is a very BAD thing, because your characters can't level up at a decent rate. Oh sure, they try to make up for it by giving you a chance to earn an exp or fol multiplier, but unless you've got quick eyes, you'll miss this, and as a result, your characters will remain, for the sake of offensiveness, pussies. Like I said, I didn't get to far into the game, because, well, basically, the level up system is broken, and to me, that spells the death kneal for an RPG game. As a result, I can't tell you much about the story other than its the usual "Rescue your best friend" type of story. I might try to give this game another shot, but until that time, with sloppy battles and a horrible level up system, I give it a 2 out of 5. Learning Curve: Takes too long
