The Strategist is a turn-based strategy game were you control regions and Command Centers. Each turn you are given a limited number of actions that you use to defeat your opponents. The actions include attacking, building upgrades and special actions such as "Propaganda" and "Blitz".

In the main campaign you take the role as the "Union's" youngest Strategists. During one of your practise sessions the military base is attacked by gas missiles that brainwash your soldiers and turn them against you! Also, your friend "Strategist Ricks" is captured! During the campaign you attempt to find out who is leading the attack and where they have taken Ricks.
