Tribes: Aerial Assault brings the fast and furious action of Sierra's ultra popular team-based online action game to Sony's PS2. It features a whole new game engine designed specifically for the PS2 version and offers everything you'd expect from a Tribes title including vehicular combat, team-based combat, various gameplay modes (Capture the Flag, Hunter, Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, and Capture & Hold) along with a robust single player campaign, split screen multiplayer and online play via Sony's PS2 broadband adapter.

The storyline for the game is pretty much a continuation of Tribes 2 and adds no real extending plot to the Starsiege universe. However, there is a story the game has for itself.

It is the 40th century (3945 A.C.. Five years after Tribes 2). On the frontier "Wilderzone" of human space, hardy neo-barbarian tribes compete for possession of new worlds. Tribal warriors enter combat in powered armor, relying on skill and bravery to win glory.

Now the BioDerm Hordes have started to invade tribal space. Through the tribes boast of being the finest warriors humanity has ever produced, they face a genetically modified race that has literally bred itself for battle. The stakes are epic, and the Wilderzone is aflame with a new kind of war.

The story begins in the campaign where you begin training in how to move, shoot, and understand how the game works. Here you are in the boots of J.Ransom, a newblood who's been recently recruited. Once training is over, J.Ransom [you] go through the missions to fight off the BioDerm horde and keep control of tribal space.
