The Guardian Legend
"Long ago, in a distant galaxy, an alien race sent a huge world-called Naju-hurtling toward Earth, loaded with a cargo of mysterious life forms.
During the long journey, these creatures have multiplied and become increasingly evil-and now Naju teems with evil. However, deep within this complex globe are self-destruct mechanisms that can be activated to destroy it before it reaches Earth.
Now, you must battle your way deep within Naju's labyrinths to destroy the alien world. You are the guardian of Earth and your saga will become The Guardian Legend."
The main character is anonymous, because their identity doesn't matter. What does matter are your actions, which include saving the world. It contains top down adventure action much like in Master Blaster and it has top down shooter sequences, which provides for a nice balance and variation in the action.

Bottom Line: PLAY THIS GAME!!! how many times have you played nes games that you never hurd and found out the reason you never hurd of them.....and that reason being THEY SUCK ASS!?!?!?!
Well this game is in NO WAY one of those games. this is by far one of my favorit titles for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) and ill tell you why... the game starts out as a 3rd person flying/shooter, you are thrown directly into combat blasting your way through the first level.the game play of this is incredable!while the first few enemys are just astroids and dont do much damage.....well thats to be expected since its the first level. but dont get me wrong The Guardian Legend has hundreds of enemys to blast into oblivion. at the end of the first level you fight the planets defence system witch is no easy task by normal NES standerds but is pritty easy compared to the rest of the game. once your past the defence system you now are on the planet as the guardian. it plays alot like a futuristic version of zelda in game play and in weapons. but even so this game is no ripoff. so much detail was put into the game it demands playtime. all the areas with game bosses are fought in your pilot form and the mini bosses in your guardian form. like zelda the game takes longer then a few hours to beat but keeps you hooked to keep playing. and while its extreamly hard you wont be able to stop trying (case and point) i played this game for the first time in 1995... 13 years later with all the advances in video games i still cant stop playing. the sound track is amazing as well. so much so that i have 12 remixes of the soundtrack loaded on my mp3 player at any time. and as for graphics... well its nes .... but ive seen alot of snes games with worse graphics if that tells you anything. now you may be asking yourself.... "why is this guy so upsesed with this game?" all i have to say is try it atleast once. to me this was one of the best titles for the NES and the only reason it never spawned a second game is for the fact that it would be no good given the story line.they ended it when they should have and to me thats alot better then haveing a really bad second game to fallow a game like this.
