Introduction
The Singular is a Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game that you play casually, through your web browser. It doesn't require any plugins and can be played from any standard browser.
The Setting
The Singular is set on the world of Traeth -- for the High Fantasy campaign. We're planning Science Fiction and Urban Vampire settings too.
From there, it's up to you, the player, to build out all corners of the world. Initially, we've populated a few countries with a few major cities, but, those of you with the constructionist bug can flesh the world out how you see fit.
The High Level Mechanics
Those of you familliar with Dungeons and Dragons will have a good feel for how the game system is put together. It's not quite a d20 system, but, it shares a lot of the same basic prinicples. It has a similar mechanics design underneath -- just built for a web-based game instead.
Those of you not familliar with it? It's built to be easy to pick up, so you'll catch on quickly enough.
What You Can Do In This World
The Singular has been constructed to appeal to you whether you want to open a store and craft or storm castles to kill. It is made so you can play the way you want to play. You can look at the Roadmap for a better idea of what features we've implemented and where we're going with the game.
A few things you can do in-game:
Play as one of three different character templates - Adventurers, Merchants or Aristocrats - Each with their own strengths.
Craft your own items. Almost any item you can imagine with almost any powers you can imagine is possible.
Set up a store to sell your items.
Create your own skills and spells or choose pre-existing ones.
Simply purchase items from some other store and head for the hills for some High Adventure with our Quest Engine.
Battle other players one-on-one or join server-wide battles between guilds.
Build your own adventure areas for other players to experience.
Everyone has Health, Conditions, Skills, Attributes or Items.
Earn badges, trophies, etc.
Join a Guild and take over a city.
Carry, store, display or sell anything you own including property.
Earn money by selling items, questing, learning a profession or having people play through your own hand crafted adventures.
View/Send/Subscribe/Publish (Static, Email, RSS, etc.) your own challenge history.
Challenge another player to a duel, a cooking contest or a dance off. It's only limited by your imagination.
World-level events and high level story affect everyone.
Play at your own pace.
