Titanion has a very classic shoot 'em up gameplay. You travel forwards and enemies come at you. There are three different game modes: classic, basic, and modern.

In classic mode you can't continually fire, you can turn an enemy into a friend, and crashing into an enemy destorys your ship. In basic mode crashing into an enemy doesn't destroy your ship, but the gameplay is otherwise the same as classic mode. Finally, in modern mode you get a ship with three turrets that can all fire all the time, further there is no collision detection at all between your ship, and those of the enemies.
