Typing of the Dead
The Typing of the Dead is an arcade game released in 2000 based on The House of the Dead 2. While the latter is a fairly standard light gun shooter, Typing replaces the gun with the keyboard.
The levels of the two games are close to identical, but instead of simply gunning down hordes of onrushing zombies the player has to type the word or short phrase in front of each enemy to kill it. A typing tutorial for beginners and several mini-game drills designed to improve typing skills are also included.

Bottom Line: The besterest(tm)(c) game ever, ever on this planet. The game is a slightly adapted version of the rail shooter "The House of the Dead". However, this time you don't pull out your light gun, but your keyboard. That's right - the keyboard where you use to type your emails and stuff.
The zombies in this game cannot be shot by aiming and clicking them, but have a number plate at their belly that shows a word or a short phrase. Your job is to type these words. Each typed letter yields a random-position bullet hit on that zombie, which is very impressive and pushes the fun factor to 130%. When you miss-spell a word, wrong letters are just ignored (luckily). The game starts to lock on a zombie, when you type the first letter of its word. There are occasions when that is the wrong zombie (one way in the background e.g.), but you can unlock by pressing the ESC key, easily. There's a really, really great tutorial section in that game with a tutor that tells you how to write with 10 fingers on the keyboard. I so, so learned rapid typing with this game and if you can get a copy of it somewhere on ebay, DO BUY IT! Learning Curve: Takes a second
