My Favorite Games
A gamelist by Pier Paolo Guillen HernandezA list of some of my favorite games (in no particular order). I probably am forgetting some and will play some more, so it'll be changing.
Super Mario All Stars
Four (or five, depending on the version) great Mario games. Super Mario 3 is my all-time favorite game, and Super Mario 1 it's also up there. The Lost Levels is a nice (and tough) challenge, while Super Mario 2 is quite different, yet very enjoyable. If you also add Super Mario World to the game, you couldn't ask for more.
Donkey Kong Country
My favorite SNES game. Great gameplay and a nice variety of stages and bosses. The 101% is a classic. It also has one of the best soundtrack.
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
This game has it all: great story, music and gameplay (and some weird glitches too). One of the few games in which I enjoyed either exploring every piece of the world and completing everything, or to speed run it.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Never been so engaged with the story of any other game. For me it didn't had quite the same replay value as A link to the past, but there's no doubt why is considered as one of the best games of all time.
Galaga
I loved to play this game on my Atari 7800. I was able to reach somewhere about level 50, until my mom lost my cartridge
Starcraft
I should have been programming/studying/anything instead of playing this one. "I'll just finish this mission and I'm done for today". The only problem is that the mission lasted for hours and it usually wasn't the last one!
Metroid Prime
The best first person game I've played (not a big fan of the genre, by the way). Superb story and atmosphere. I never played for more than two straight hours, as those unexpected pirates and creepy music always got me distressed! (One small break and ready to go!)
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Arcade Game
Actually, I didn't played much the Arcade Game but rather the NES port. One of my favorite brawlers, along with Double Dragon II, Turtles in Time and Final Fight II. I chose this one over those mostly for nostalgic reasons.
Chrono Trigger
The best RPG I've played, yet it isn't my favorite. It has it all covered: great graphics and music, an epic story, good character development, a nice fighting system and a lot of replay value.
Super Mario RPG: Legend Of The Seven Stars
I think it's the first RPG I played from start to end, and it's definitely my favorite. I also like the Paper Mario and the Super Star Saga games, but they don't come even close. Excellent gameplay, humor, characters and story. Can you get 100 jumps?
Super Mario 64
I think this is the game I've played the least of the list. I always played it with friends but never bought it (always wanted, but ended buying newer or cheaper games). I'll probably buy it for the VC a soon as I get a Wii (still waiting for the price drop and black model).
Gran Turismo 2
I'm not fan of car games and I barely played PS1 games, so I guess it was fate I found this one. I played it for weeks trying to get all the licenses, all the cars and beating all courses (until I had to give it back to its owner).
Advance Wars: Dual Strike
The newest game of the list (of latest release). Still playing this one but not as much. The strategy and depth in this game fascinates me. Chose it over the other Advance Wars as it has better graphics and more units (although I enjoy all).
Street Fighter II: The World Warrior
The owner of many of my evenings as a teen (even when the SNES was outdated). Played it mostly in my SNES, but I also love the Arcade version. Ryu and Blanka rule!
Sonic the Hedgehog 2
I got my Sega Genesis with these game. Didn't play it as much as a Mario game, but still I spent a lot of time on this one. Specially with my brother, either co-op or in versus. On the negative side, I feel the game is a bit easy except for the final battle which is excessively hard.
