These are my favorite games of all time.

Play Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3

Earlier versions were still rough, and later versions started getting too complex, but this game had it dead-on. Massive hours spent perfecting this. Stunningly good controls and amazing depth makes this one of the best games of all time.

Play Toe Jam And Earl
Toe Jam And Earl

Like no other game before it. Pushed the buttons of my imagination more than any game ever has. The first game with FUNK! Two player co-op mode is where this game really shone.

Play Super Mario Bros.
Super Mario Bros.

All but invented the platformer. Classic.

Play Sonic The Hedgehog
Sonic The Hedgehog

Took the platformer to new and non-obvious dimensions. Where Mario is all about control, Sonic is about letting go and trusting the level design.

Play Jet Grind Radio
Jet Grind Radio

All but invented the cell shading look, which more than a mere gimmick perfectly dovetailed the graffiti-blazing gameplay. Utterly original, totally captured my imagination. Like Toe Jam, this game was loaded with funk and style.

Play SuperMetroid
SuperMetroid

A perfect action platformer that has yet to be surpassed. Perfection.

Play Streets Of Rage
Streets Of Rage

The gold standard for brawlers.

Play Phantasy Star Online
Phantasy Star Online

Well balanced blend of RPG, real-time action, and multiplayer online. From Sonic Team, this one was way ahead of its time. Spent so much time playing this that I ruined my $1500 TV!

Play SimCity
SimCity

Like this game needs a reason to be in any top 10 list!

Play Orbz
Orbz

Like Tetris, brilliant in its simplicity. Tough call between Orbz and Scorched Earth, but in the end I have to list Orbz for its realtime 3D aiming and multiplayer madness. An often-overlooked classic.

Play Dead Or Alive 2
Dead Or Alive 2

The only versus fighter I have ever excelled at and enjoyed playing; the "reversal" system is revolutionary and brings versus fighters to new depths.

Play Ecco The Dolphin
Ecco The Dolphin

Like Toe Jam and Earl, this Genesis game captured my imagination and stretched the bounds of what I thought a video game could be. Simple, minimalist gameplay and HUD drive this game to home plate.

Play Berserk
Berserk

Pre-Robotron, this game takes as much strategy as it does quick reflexes due to not being able to fire and move at the same time. Taught me that constraints can create depth. A far superior game than Robotron, and another classic.
