Ultima V: Warriors of Destiny
My most bitter gaming memory ever. I played it on an old Apple IIc (remember? they called it "portable, because there was a handle on it). My brother started a New Game on it, not realizing he was erasing months of work...
Questron
The Ultima ripoff that was still compelling. Despite the limited options that were static on the left side of the screen, it kept me enthralled for a while... picked it up emulated recently.
Final Fantasy VII
Started out hating Cloud, scared of Sephiroth, and annoyed by Barak (how do you say that guy's last name?). Ended up loving everyone.
Final Fantasy X
Blasted through it in a few days, because I was obsessed. The height of cut-scene excellence.
City of Heroes
Started out playing a Marvel ripoff (The Incredyble Hulk, hehe) until the hate got to me. Ended up with a Slasher who served as the inspiration for some of our own characters...
Roadwar 2000
The SSI gem that time forgot. The title's date now makes me laugh, but it was post-apocalyptic America with you as a gang-leader driving across the states gathering antidote and trashing rival gangs and mutants. Love it.
The Bard's Tale
A grand total of 80 pixels x 80 pixels of graphics, yet you felt as if you were in a 3D world. Dropping Mangar's Mind Mallet on enemies is still a fond memory...
Might And Magic VI
The height of the series. No steps-- just hovering through life like you'd never touch the ground...
