Computer Games I Have Played 3
A gamelist by FletchardGames I forgot to add to my earlier lists and my most recent games.
Star Wars: Empire At War
Great space battles. Graphics, sound, and the ability to call in built units anywhere on the map (almost) make the game intense and quick. The land battles are horrible, ground units are far too useless and the unit cap is too small. The land battles prevent me from wanting to play the campaigns. Also in the campaigns the space maps seem to be really small, I've lost units before I had a chance to click on them.
gridwars
The best arcade game I've played. It's like flying through an asteroid field, playing this game, but instead of Asteroids
Space Rangers 2
A great space RPG. Inflation, the intelligent AI, and the universe's every growing tech tree create an immersive environment. The game doesn't change much from beginning to end, but there are enough things to do to keep you busy and the game is always fun. I also like the negotiation system, where ships that are weaker than you will ACTUALLY DO WHAT YOU ORDER THEM TO DO instead of fight you until the bitter end like in most games I have played, negating the point of their diplomacy feature. The possibility of being a pirate without completely destroying all your relations with the game's nations, as happens in most games like in Freelancer, is also refreshing. The text adventures rock too.
Baldur's Gate
A good RPG. Many of the encounters are actually challenging without making me feel like I'm just going up against a wizard with enough time to get his buffing spells on him. I'm reminded of the guy with fireball arrows who wiped out my party once. The kobold commandos in one of the dungeons really inspired me too, they were so fiendish given how weak they were individually. The game went on awfully long though, the BBEG (Big bad evil guy) kept escaping. I tried finishing the game one day when I thought it was nearly at its end based on how the story arc was going. I had to play for another 8 hours. Fun game though.
