TorqueX and XNA Developers

Making a game for your Xbox 360?

Then you're in the right place! This group is for the development of indie games for the Xbox 360 using XNA and TorqueX. Feel free to network with other Xbox 360 game developers, catch-up with some relevant headlines, and dive into a discussion thread.

Welcome to the Xbox 360 Developers Corner

For the first time in gaming history, making video games for a next-gen console is open to the public. It's now up to us to create some amazing games that really break the mold of traditional games. Microsoft and its partners are offering great tools to help us. This video showcases XNA Racer, a game and framework that will be shared (with source code) for us to work from. Okay, XNA Racer does fit the mold of a traditional racing game... but you can take that code as a starting point for something really different.

TorqueX will also provide another great framework for developing your own games for Xbox 360. Based on what was shown at Gamefest, it looks like you can create your own high quality game on par with Tank Buster as shown in the next video. Static Sprites, Animates Sprites, Custom Lighting and Normal Mapping - everything we need to create a fun console game. If you're already familiar with GarageGame's technologies, then I'm sure you'll have no problem mastering TorqueX.

Here's a fun little XNA game put together by an indie with some C# knowledge, but no serious game development background. F14 XNA was built directly on top of the XNA Framework, but imagine how much faster this might be developed with TorqueX! In the meantime, ARogan has posted his code for you to download and play.
