Adam Dunne
Hey all, I'm Adam Dunne, 18 years old. I enjoy computers and gaming... if you are on this site and you don't, I suggest you go get a myspace or facebook, this isn't the community for you!
I develop PC games in DarkBasic Pro mostly for fun and experience right now. One day I'd like to design 3d models for a living, but that's a few years off. I'm planning to take courses at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. They have what seems to be an awesome set of classes for game design artwork. If anyone has ever been there I would appreciate some reviews and opinions.
Outside of computers, I enjoy : Being with my family, being with friends, bowling and golf, laser tag, Lego, guitar, drawing, and of course eating!
My current project is an Adventure RPG set in a little world of penguins. Odd sounding I know, but hey, that's what I'm best at. Cartoony wierd things. I will have more info on that soon. Watch my "Recent News" block for that!

Well, It's been a few days, haven't posted any progress, but I have some now. The editor is coming along well. I updated the GUI, it's alot prettier now :P Any objects in the proper folders will now load and get placed into the proper menu bar. You can place, rotate, and scale each object. Also I fixed the entity buttons and fixed a large bug that popped up on me when I tried to add in some objects on different menus. It's a good thing though, I think it streamlined my code a bit more and made things a bit easier on me. Attatched is a screenshot of most of the editor features. The big blue box is a trigger object which you will be able to attach dialogs or scripted sequences too, such as when you enter a cave, you may want an old hermit to jump out and scare you with some classic dialog boxes saying "AARaaeeERRrrrrghhh!! GET OUTTA MY CAVE!!" It could then start a battle or something. I also put a picture of a possible hero penguin in the gallery below. I say possible because I have a few other hairstyles I wanna try out on the penguins. The hero of course will get the best one :) That's all for now

Progress on the editor is going very well! I can now spawn all my pieces at the click of a button on the side menu. Button placements in the pic are a tad screwed up, but that's real easy to fix. I was too stoked once I got my object placement system working. Next big step now is to save and reload my map file. That should prove to be a few hours of difficulty to get just right (5 minutes in any skilled coders hand), but once that is done I will be well underway into my project. Soon I will probably start up a game page for this project once I can justify it with some screenshots and videos.

Well, I have been making progress on my RPG map editor. I have the the camera controls, and alot of object position / rotation features added. It's being created with alot of things in mind, so progress is slow. I'm sort of planning as I go. So far it seems to be working. Hopefully by next week I will be able to spawn any object I want and be able to save the map file. After I get that main functionality in I will need to add in extra controls for NPCs, quests, items, collision detection, etc. It's coming along nicely so far though. I have a water placeholder and snow effect in also. The snow will probably be a random event in game in the arctic regions. Well, that's about all for today!

Wish I could call it a career!
I haven't had much of a career to speak of in game design. Right now it's a hobby and a future goal. I hope to one day create 3d and 2d art for a big games company.
Right now I do "real work" which includes landscaping and HVAC work. I call that real work because, well, I don't look at game design as work (yet). I really enjoy it. One day, I may change my tune under the stress of a job, but right now I thoroughly enjoy it.
I have worked on various projects over the last 4 years for myself and other people. My current endeavor is a cartoony, 3d isometric view adventure/RPG starring some of my own characters that I dream up.

In no particular order... these are my favorite games. I was slightly disapointed to find Dark Forces 2 : Jedi Knight and Terra Nova weren't in the list of games on this site.
Wow, WoW is cool! Probably the game I have invested the most hours to in my gaming history.
When this came out it had some very fun multiplayer. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I ought to dust off the old cd's again.
Great WW2 game. IMHO better than the MOH series by far.
Another classic game. I still play this every once and awhile!
Wonderful old game. I need to get the C&C 10 years pack so this game will work on my newer computers.
Sequel to the best Star Wars game ever.
Pretty lame story and characters, but overall fun gameplay.
Classic Star Wars gaming right here! I want an old computer to play this again.
Probably one of the best shooters to date.
Awesome game and very addictive.
Don't have this game yet, but love the demo.
Probably the game that got me hooked on shooters. I still play this game on the PSX despite it's horrid graphics.
Jedi Knigt... Ah, memories. I used to mod this game for hours every day.
Ahh, the days of DOS. Terra Nova was an FPS variant where you fought space pirates in mechanical battle armor. You could choose your weapon loadout and squad mates. It was great. Once again, I need another old computer.
