Summary:

Avid gamer. I work a lot with following the trends and the direction of the industry for my own interests and part of my career for a software distribution company.

Focused primarily around the PC, I spent time in my past with development and design and since have not made much headway or spent much time in that realm. Hope to step back into it as my interests once again rise.

Interests:

I enjoy most things that send those pulses through the skull. The things that make your brain meat tingle and twitch when it's thought provoking. This is the way we learn, this is the way we adapt, this is how we are creative.

I like thinking games, puzzle games, role playing games, and games that provoke emotion like drama or horror genres. On the flip side I seem to enjoy explosions, guns, fast animation and loud noises. For these reasons I like first person shooters, straight to the point spontaneous danger and violence, or tactical depends on how it's done. I also enjoy a good real time strategy game, so long as the mechanics are complex enough where you have to think and it's not just masses of units flying at each other. Which is only enjoyable when accompanied by a good soundtrack and a cool alcoholic beverage.

Speaking of soundtracks, I also enjoy music. For the most part I listen to anything. My preferred genres would be classical, rock or metal, and synth which leads mostly into old school videogame music and up to modern synth and industrial. I can dabble on the guitar myself and a bit of keyboards if my brain tugs me that way.

Goal:

Hope to get back into programming like I used to. I will be starting small projects through the year and inevitably end up pushing some concepts that have been mulling in my brain.
My goal is to get back on track and into a game based project in either development or design.

I'm not seeing a mask! Totally misleading. Hah. I second Wiley. Post it up when it's ready. Look forward to hopefully content to come... or at least photos from travelling! ~Atrius1174377170
This is an interesting game. I have to agree with many in that it is a bit confusing at first. It seems that it is a bit more complex than its first impression warrants. I began to understand more of the trade of the decisions I made as I began to play more lengthly. Primarily I see the same flaws that [user=therabidwombat] (reviewer) states. The lack of acknowledgement when an event occurs detracts from the overall understanding. Some form of cue or trigger when something critical happens, such as upgrading weaponry or losing a life. Simply a text overlay that alerted would be sufficient though sound as well would add to the flavor. One thing that I think would spice the game up abit is in the terms of the movement of your little ship. While the standard x coordinate movement may lend itself to the classic style of gameplay, I think that allowing the ship to move a path as a rectangle around the outside of all of the grid would make it a more more interactive. Moving him to the top to shoot down, or left/right side shooting horizontally across. Would allow the players focus to drift around the grid more than stay fixed near the bottom. While I don't feel it would give the player any significant advantage. Though the grid is rectangle and horizontal fire may prove to be unintended. Overall an interesting concept and definately plays on classic gameplay style. I enjoyed it.1174252316
I enjoyed this game a lot. As [user=ForgedReality] mentions there are just a ton of cars. It has quite a bit of physics involved the car customization has options, not ultra extensive but quite a few plus internal tweaks to weights and such of the car.1173830060
Good to hear. That and the img GGE tag not forcing the dimensions on the image unless it exceeds it would be great. ie. If you upload a 75x25 image it takes up 75x75 in small regardless. Also there needs to be like a 512x64 for doing horizontal dividers. But alas I'm ranting in my own comment section!1173829682
More than likely you'll need to use something to throttle your CPU clock speed, or limit/interrupt if you plan to actually play this game. It runs incredibly fast on new hardware. After doing that it was actually quite entertaining. Has the feel of more recent Flash games. For it's time of release I would consider a game like this a success as a coffee break game.1173759407
American McGee is a very gifted creative writer. With someone like that behind the story of a game you can always expect good things. It's a pity we haven't heard much from Carbon6 since McGee left EA. Here's to hoping for more stories to come... Third person action adventure using a First Person Shooter control scheme. Targeting and Jump reticle allow for everyone to get into the game easily. Puzzles work the brain meats which is always a positive feeling. Highly Recommend.1173757389
This was the game that got my dad into First Person Shooters. The Co-Op play and ability to search through things and loot bodies brought an unparalleled adventure style to this great game. Much more than your average shoot 'em up.1173753977
Chris Taylor did an amazing job with the original Total Annhilation and he stepped up to once again create a game that pushes the limits of unique and creative strategy gameplay. Highly Recommend. Unit Control with Options Multi-Tier Unit Upgrades Large Number of Units at One Time Large Scale to Small Scale encounter, Overhead display or Close up For some people that may make this game too complex for their tastes, for others it's just what they're looking for. Take this into account and try the Demo if you prefer less complexity.1173692253
