Jamie Roberts

I'm just your average girl trying to get into the video games industry (and change the world on the side). I want to develop fiercely original games that have more depth beyond your average fantasy hack-n-slash or sci-fi shoot-em-up. I'm tired of stale genres and clichéd content. The industry needs a change, and I hope to be a part of it.

I'm currently attending the Art Institute of California - San Francisco.

Random Useless Fact: My screen name (ChangelingJane) is from a book that you have to read (or else).

Current Evil Plans:

1. Build a small team to develop T-Girl: The Adventure.
2. Finish school.
3. Gather enough mojo to push other concepts into development.
4. ???
5. Profit!

Systems I Own:
My mind has a mind of its own.

My disenchanted attitude these days:

Is it another real-time strategy game? Another World War 2 shooter? Another squad-based tactical shooter? Another generic fantasy RPG?

Will I be collecting pieces of an ancient, magical artifact? Will I be the only one who can save a once-peaceful world from the clutches of evil? Will I build a party of adventurers from the ground up by increasing a screen's worth of stats? Will all the women wear chainmail bikinis?

Will I do nothing but fill enemies with bullets? Will I only need a shotgun, a machine gun, and a rocket launcher (or cosmetically-altered equivalents)? Will my most important actions include amassing frags, capturing flags, or beating the other team?

Will most of my time be spent collecting resources on a map and building units? Will I have to research a massive technology tree in an endless attempt to one-up my opponent? Will we each belong to factions with nothing more than superficial distinctions between them?

If so, then chances are I don't care about your game.
All-time favorite games.
A classic adventure game with beautiful graphics and music, and well-written, funny dialogue.
Still one of the best hybrid-FPS games ever made.
The best 2D entry in the series.
An engaging RPG based on Raymond E. Feist's Riftwar Saga.
One of the first real-time 3D games made for the PC, and a great RPG.
An amazingly fun action/adventure, even if you never manage to find two friends willing to play with you.
Pure platforming genius.
An underrated and obscure turn-based strategy game that's way more fun than it has any right to be.
Zelda at its purest and most refined.
DK was an instant classic. It's too bad the sequels never measured up to the original.
A solid argument for games as art that would've been a great game even without its subtly deep visual touches.
More polished than its predecessor and full of challenging thieving hyjinks.
The original uber-hybrid.
If you've played the new episodes but never saw the original, check it out.
One of the few CRPGs that actually allows you to roleplay.
This one should have made it to the States!
