The speed of light sucks -- Mr. Carmack

Wait.

More to come.
The games I consider to be my favorites.
The greatest engine ever coded. Not to mention the greatest first person shooter ever designed.
The original, Metroid, one of my absolute favorite games. Very far ahead of it's time, games today still dont play as well as the original Metroid.
The ever classic singular Metroid which is actually better than Super Metroid, in my opinion. Absolutely amazing engine, amazing game, amazing design.
Ultima 7, One of the largest games ever made, and also one of the most complex. In addition to it being an insanely good game.
One of the best side scrolling platformers of all time, and definately the definitive early Castlevania game.
One of the greatest games ever made, done in the style of Castlevania 2, or Super Metroid, Symphony of the Night redefined what was expected of games. High quality graphics, amazing musical scores, and one of the best games of all time, SoTN defined what games would become.
The single best written game ever made. Period.
The ever classic, love it or hate it, nothing had ever been like it before. Still one of the funnest games ever made.
The sheer depth and complexity of the level design of Underworld 2 is still industry renown to this day. Rarely has any game featured levels of this quality and complexity. And to think it was also mostly 3d before Quake 1.
Ah, the good old days of games. Created by the ledgendary Roberta Williams, the games that defined the entire catagory of "Adventure games." Brilliant design, and amazing stories told with unique graphics, truely some of the best PC games ever made.
I cannot talk about the old days without noting perhaps the most intriguing and provocative game of it's era. Manhunter, a unique story told in a fascinating backdrop with groundbreaking graphics and game play, truly a classic.
Again from the ledgendary Roberta Williams, further inovation in the fledgling market of adventure games, also some of the best in that catagory ever made. Witty humor, clever gameplay, Williams made a name for herself with these titles.
... If you dont already know what it is, you need to Google this name immediately. If there is a top ten list of all games, of all time, there are few people who would doubt Nethack's triumph. How many games can say they've been in development for well over 20 years, by hundreds of people? Perhapse even the greatest program ever written.
My addiction, and the game that introduced the world to the term MMORPG. Without Ultima, EverQuest, World of Warcraft, none of it would have ever been invented. Ultima created the entire industry.
The coolest game ever made, hands down. This game is one of the few, or perhapse only that can boast true style. Tass Times in Tone Town wasn't just cool, it was slick, stylish, and it knew it. One of the great, almost forgotten classics.
One of my personal addictions, Daggerfall took what Arena built, and improved it. With an absolutely massive landscape, complex in depth game play seldom seen before, and state of the art graphics and sound, Daggerfall was amazing for it's time. If not terribly bug ridden....
