Michael Kidder
Aspiring developer, I look up to people such as Shigeru Miyamoto, the Rare team from the N64 days and the folks at Bungie for lessons on what to do and what not to do. A formely 100% Nintendo fanboy, I have recently gotten into the Xbox and have enjoyed playing Halo 2 online.
For around six years I worked on my first full game, called Sword of Jade. I started it in high school in 1999 and finally released it with the help of a co-developer in 2005. Working on this game taught me the concepts of using a game design document, task scheduling, and the pitfalls and advantages of using a engine not made by yourself.
Currently all of our new games use the Game Maker engine. Someday I hope to make a game in a modern 3D engine such as Torque, Source, or Unreal.
I also have a site project producing and directing the Platformers Podcast.
