Kristopher Johnstone

Hey i'm Kris, been programming from 9 (yes, i know)
Got into gaming around 4-6ish years old.
I then decided around the age of 16 that i'd love to get into game development.
Been designing one game for awhile, my main project (one game i hope to get some support for in the future).
I have some other odds and ends projects that i may go ahead with sometime in the future when i have time (college can suck sometimes)
Thats all for now!

Updates.

Update:14/4/08
Okay, i seriously need to update this more
I will get some sort of pictures of current development up soon.
Been slacking off ... sorry.

Anyway, i am currently going through the process of designing the world layout (having to consider future expansions to it as well)
I am focusing on building up the mansion just now, trying to make it as realistic as possible, but also have most of the rooms perform some function in the game.
The world is split into main grids, then those grids sub-divided into a 4x5 grid.
Each of these smaller grids are then split up into a 100x100 grid, which is where i design the layout in Excel (lol) , then saved into a comma-delimited file.
There will be 2 of these files at first, one for the layout, one for the object positions.
The object positions will then be ran through a script to remove junk data, for optimization (might do the same for the layout-file as well)
Need to learn how i will go about reading in these files and drawing them to screen as best as possible and as quick as possible.

I am going over some ideas for a story (there is a basic back-story just now)
That one is mainly sitting on the back just now.

I had an idea that i am experimenting with just now that relates to mirrors and worlds within them.
I have been going over the math behind it and trying to get it to work as best as possible.
At first, i was going to have it based on true physics, a mirror will reflect a room exactly as it is, but then this means that things the mirror can't see, well, they won't exist, so it ruined the idea.
I then decided to make mirrors static, and to reflect the room fully.
Sadly, i don't know enough math to go ahead with the fully dynamic mirror idea, it would be like doing what Portal done for portals... too much for now.

Anyway, i think that is all i will put for now.
Doubt anyone will even read this anyway ._.
If there is, thank you.

Played most of these games. Some are yet to be released, but are still going here because i can, so neh to that!
Simply amazing FPS. Online makes it 10x better.
Sequel to the "reason to own a multitap" for PS2. The second coming of those nasty Timesplitters!

Breathtaking visuals, simple gameplay, great way to relax and game at the same time. Honestly one of my favourite games of all time!
Classic FPS coming to you straight from Hell!
Amazing sequel to the original (duh) Same gameplay maybe, but still awesome simply for gameplay!
I loved this game, but i don't have it, i seriously need to get this! Played it at my cousins years ago.
This game looks amazing! I can't wait for this!
I can't wait for this!
