I run Flammable Penguins a small creative company that holds many of my projects, hopes and dreams. This includes the Game Programmers in Training Podcast.

I'm the crazy girl with a keyboard, too much black, a large bookshelf of cyberpunk, fantasy, programming and German philosophers. I live for games, skydiving, dancing, parties and all the related mess they get me into.
Ultimately I'm the insane and have a license to main (or is it maim).

Career Summary

I studied a BSC:IT(CS spec in AI) and a BA:Phil at University of Pretoria, South Africa.
I moved to the UK with High hopes and called up for my first job, I quote (Company name has been changed).
Claire: Hi, Claire Blackshaw here I'm calling about the game programmers position you advertised.
Boss: Sorry we don't have any admin posts availible at the moment.
Needless to say I corrected him but yeah it left a VERY bad taste in my mouth. I tried to get a job for year but after getting to so many final stage interview and being turned down well between personal hurdles and UK xenophobia I decided I needed a UK degree sooooooo....
I am currently studying a BSC:Games Software Eng at Northumbria University, United Kingdom. I am working full time however to pay international student fees.
