Top Classic Games from the dawn of battery-operated gaming (Game-n-Watch!) to 2000.
The game that popularized turn-based strategy games.
Who would forget Carmen San Diego? I still play this to this day!
You play online games? You play single player RPGs? This game is the grand-daddy of all electronic RPG. If you say you're an expert RPG gamer, then finish this game first and send me your save file. (Don't you dare download saved games :p )
Sims or Tycoon? TTD definitely popularized the 'Tycoon' games. This is one classic games I still play to this day, and one reason why I will not upgrade to Vista yet, because I simply love this!! Yes its easy, but who cares? Its very enjoyable!
If you're a fan of SimCity 3 up, then I strongly suggest you play SimCity 1, the very first of the 'Sim' games. I played this game under CGA monitor, 8086 system, which later I found out to look better on better systems... haha..
The game that won me a couple of bucks and where my career as a gamer (and who get paid to play games) started. Joined a competition related to SMB 1, and the game where I started to find secret stuff :p The negative levels? It's very old :p I still know the sequence by heart.
We live where there are high-rise buildings. We're not farmers, but with this yet-another-popular Sim game, we can be our own farmer. Real-world rules applies, don't just farm what you like personally. I just wish they revive this game and link this with SimCity, as in SimFarm, you sell your crops to the "(Sim) City".
Talk about classic games, Prince of Persia will pop-up for sure. Classic controls, 2D graphics, only directions are up, down, left and right. CGA graphics (looks better on VGA)... man, if missed this game, better find a copy before you continue playing modern games.
Of course, let's not forget about Maniac Mansion. Tentacles anyone? This is the first game where I scourged our little urban world (what, I was only 10 or something then), just to find a guide! Never give up... especially for mind games.
CHICKEN!!! Yeah... Kill that CHICKEN!! YEHBA!!
Hah... I was born on 1982, and I sure played the arcade version of Galaga and I think Atari...
Froggy... don't let froggy get splat! WWF will find you to the ends of the earth. We should revive this game and save our world from Global Warming. It's our turn to "cross"... or we'll die...
Talk about unity in this world without one. Lemmings is definitely the race that will put us humans to shame. I just wish the Lemming race are much bigger so we'll take notice of them.
Haha... if I'm not mistaken, this is the last pure keyboard FPS game. Very memorable... frag them all. Thanks to Quake 1, I won on the Keyboard vs Mouse Quake II challenge. Of course I raised the flag high-up for us Keyboard-users... mouse? Boo!!
Correct me if I'm wrong... Doom II is the first LAN-FPS, heck who knows about LAN back then? We simply call it "network gaming", no acronym lingo. 3 Challenges... (1) use only shotgun; (2) finish Map 5; (3) kill the boss of Map 32. Again, all but shotgun. Oh, let's add one more, ZERO deaths. Oh, another! ZERO damage (don't use the first aid kit or healing orbs). Dare? I'm game!!
This game I will never forget. The condition was this: If no one finishes Bomberman 1, Lode Runner will never be released for the Family Computer (NES) platform. I'm glad to be one of the first 5 to do so (I'm only 5 or 6 yrs old then) both here in the Philippines and Japan... I got lot of freebies, and another Family Computer set. ^_^ Yes, Nintendo is selling "Family Computer" series here in the Philippines, we don't know about the "Nintendo Entertainment System", glad they did, coz NES is ugly :p hehe FamiCom rulez!
