| Being an EQ player as well, I still am though started in Beta, I can relate with some of the concerns. I disagree though. They have stated numerous times that they are targeting it all of the following: - Casual - Core - Hardcore They mentioned the game content will be split up roughly about: 20% Solo/Casual content 20% Raid/Hardcore content 60% Group/Core content As David said they have always very much supported the "Core" player. They recently described such in an interview as the type of player that would spend 2-3 hours a day 4 days a week and might casually attend a raid every once in a while. So far in Beta 5 (after the holidays) they have been patching once or twice a day. They've been making amazing progress and the game is fleshing out beautifully. I'm loving every moment of beta and absolutely love the Diplomacy sphere, as well as the Adventuring and Crafting sphere :) Also performance has increased in a couple release, at least from what the boards and people in game say.
