I went on to get the Sega Genesis, Super Nintendo, SegaCD, Sega Saturn, and then the Playstation. Then I became a full-fledged PC gamer, eschewing console gaming as I couldn't identify and enjoy console gaming as much as PC gaming. It started when I visited a friend's house and he showed me this game called Doom II. It blew me away, it was nothing like any of the console games I've ever played. Right then I knew I had to get a computer to play these kind of games.
My first PC game was a great way to get started with Looking Glass Studios' (R.I.P.) tactical FPS game, Terra Nova: Strike Force Centauri. It sucked me into another world and didn't let go, and it was a thrill ride I'll never forget. Doom/Doom II, as has it done for many, made me a PC gamer for life.
To this day I'm an avid PC gamer, and perhaps one day I'll become a console gamer again. For now, I'm the opposite of the doom-sayer, I feel PC gaming is getting better everyday (with a few negative trends developing from time-to-time.)

*Format text in many ways.
